OUR COFOUNDERS

My name is Jason Dobbins, and I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. I eventually found my way to Monticello due to job opportunities and life circumstances. At first, I was hesitant to settle down here, but over time, I built meaningful connections that opened my eyes to some of the adversities children in this community face.
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with a child struggling with severe emotional disturbance (SED). Witnessing this child’s challenges with self-regulation and emotions was a transformative, heart-sparking journey for me. At the same time, I became acutely aware of the lack of services and support available in our community.
This experience ignited a deep desire within me to create opportunities that address these gaps. My vision for this nonprofit is to engage the community in identifying and developing solutions to meet the critical and growing needs for specialized training, education, care, and support—not just for children, but also for their families. By working together, we can bridge these gaps and build a stronger, more supportive community for all.
My name is Brooke Johnson, and I’m proud to call Indiana home, having spent most of my life here in Monticello. As the former owner and operator of Little Ras-Kel’s Daycares, I had the privilege of working closely with children and families in our community. Through that experience, I saw firsthand the struggles many families face and the critical needs that often go unmet. While I did everything I could to provide guidance, resources, and support, it became clear that the gaps were far too significant to tackle alone.
After taking time to reflect and refocus, I’ve teamed up with Jason Dobbins to cofound a new local nonprofit. Together, we are bringing a fresh approach to address these gaps, starting with the urgent and growing need for child mental health services. Our mission is simple but powerful: to unite the community, develop targeted solutions, and create opportunities that empower children and their families to thrive.
This is more than a plan—it’s a promise to build a stronger, healthier future for our community. We’re ready, and we invite you to join us in making a meaningful difference.
